For the Roses is dedicated to bringing the music of Joni Mitchell to a modern audience.  Whether playing for lifelong fans or those hearing her for the first time, they desire to honor the singular complexity and poetry of one of the greatest singer-songwriters of a generation.    

This ambitious endeavor is led by Pam Mallette, who seeks to bring new life to Joni’s melodies with her powerful yet vulnerable voice.  After seeing many of her friends successfully navigating the music industry, Pam was inspired to start her own passion project.   A musician since childhood, she learned piano before becoming a band kid on flute.  It was her voice, though, that garnered the most attention, and she has been singing semi-professionally for the past two decades in a variety of settings.  

Despite her voice and her vision, the project could not move forward without the right musicians to tackle Joni’s intimidating catalog.  So Pam turned to those who had the talent to make the project a true tour de force: Marco Saporito and Tom Hartnett.  Marco lends his masterful guitar work and smooth vocal harmonies as the band’s cornerstone, while Tom’s unmatched creativity and steadiness at the keys perfectly complements the sound.  The trio blends Joni’s music with other expressive songs from Fleetwood Mac to Eva Cassidy, providing a poignant and memorable listening experience.
