After two decades of drumming with Chicago-area rock bands, Clint Weber now creates and performs solo. Taking inspiration from Bright Eyes, The Weakerthans, and other indie artists who grew out of the 90’s, he writes and arranges bedroom folk songs which showcase wistful guitar riffs and soulful lyrics.

Clint’s music explores contrasting themes: change and stillness, dependence and self-determination, devastation and acceptance, togetherness and solitude, the desire for and the fear of the vulnerability inherent in being known. He draws from the space between dichotomies in a search for balance. Clint’s recent interest in dialectal thinking and relationships with the divine is currently manifesting in a newfound embrace of the darkness within. His music offers a glimpse into his inner experience, casting shadows and reflecting light on the stories of hope and regret he carries. Like many of the songs that resonate with him, his are often simultaneously soothing and heartbreaking.

His first record, to be released in 2023, is an apology, a love letter, a recognition of growth and the cycles of lessons learned. The songs include intimate memories and sounds taken from treasured moments of his past. Though cryptic, the lyrics strike a chord with anyone who has grappled with self-doubt, helplessness, and aimlessness, and speak to the introspection and self-work he has done over the course of his life.

Settling is a solo acoustic musician based in Illinois. His singer-songwriter style is influenced by artists like The Weakerthans, John Prine, and Colossal. His music is comprised of thoughtful, emotive lyrics and melodic guitar.
